Cast iron refers to an iron-carbon alloy having a mass fraction of carbon greater than 2.14% or having a eutectic structure in the structure. The cast iron used in industry is not a simple iron-carbon binary alloy, but a multi-element alloy with iron, carbon and silicon as main elements. It is also possible to add various alloying elements in order to obtain alloy cast iron that can meet various performance requirements.
