The Winter Solstice, commonly known as "Winter Festival" and "Ya Sui", is not only an important solar term in the twenty-four solar terms, but also an important traditional festival in my country. The winter solstice is regarded as a big winter festival. In ancient times, there was a saying that "the winter solstice is as big as a year". This shows the importance of the winter solstice. Due to the cultural differences between the north and south of our country, the customs of various places on the winter solstice are different. On the day of the winter solstice, the North mainly eats dumplings, and "eating dumplings in the winter solstice" is given a different meaning.

"If you don't serve dumpling bowls during the winter solstice, no one cares about freezing your ears"

Dumplings were called "Jiao'er" in ancient times and were invented by "medical sage" Zhang Zhongjing. According to legend, Zhang Zhongjing cooked "Quhan Jiao Er Tang" in order to rescue the people who suffered from frostbite. To commemorate him, later generations eat dumplings every winter solstice and New Year's Day.

Different dumplings have different meanings

Celery stuffing means diligence and pragmatism; leek homophonic "long wealth", meaning long-lasting wealth; cabbage homophonic "hundred wealth", meaning a hundred wealth; sauerkraut stuffing means inexhaustible wealth; rape stuffing homophonic "talent" ", which means talent, wealth, etc.
